The May 4, 2007 Suwanee Smooth Jazz 107.5 WJZZ concert will feature the music of Rio Negro. According to music reviewer Beth Perry, Rio Negro combines “contemporary vibes with the traditional jazz feel, adding dashes of Latin, funk, and R&B influences to both their original material and their arrangement of standard tunes.” The 7 p.m. concert features pianist Kevin Johnson, percussionist Broderick Santiago, and trumpeter Melvin Jones.
