Don’t miss the June 30th Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concert at Suwanee’s Town Center Park. After all, it’s not every day that one can enjoy for free a Grammy Award-winning orchestra’s breath-taking performance of Broadway and classical favorites, composed by the likes of Beethoven, Bernstein, Gershwin, and Tchaikovsky. And keep in mind that it seems the last time the full Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performed in an outdoor setting in Gwinnett County it was circa 1985!
Says classical music enthusiast and former City Councilmember Carol Hassell: “The ASO is one of the country’s premiere orchestras—an icon of great music in Atlanta. I've been to many concerts at Symphony Hall and Chastain, but I'm really excited that we’ll have the opportunity to see this award-winning group right here in Suwanee. It’ll be a unique scene. The ASO in Suwanee is truly the highlight of this summer in Gwinnett.” The ASO’s Town Center performance is presented by Peoples Bank & Trust. Other area businesses who have generously provided support for the concert are Atlanta Classic Cars, Chandler Britt Jay & Beck, Noble Village, Suwanee Family Physicians, and Scientific Atlanta, a Cisco Company.
The ASO will perform at 8 p.m. with members of the Greater Atlanta Christian School orchestra taking the stage for an opening performance at 7 p.m.
“We are really looking forward to performing in Suwanee and have a great program planned that I know the audience will love,” says Jere Flint, the ASO conductor for the evening.
